Description
This presentation demonstrates development and use of a database created by blending knowledge from nursing and information sciences to meet the needs of the St. Vincent DePaul food bank located in Shreveport. By moving away from paper-based records, the food bank is now able to provide services to clients and manage reports more efficiently. Asummary of the training provided to food bank volunteers concerning the use of the database is also presented. The honors program at Northwestern provides the impetus for this project and presentation.
