Description

Because pyraclostrobin’s recent use in Louisiana on sugarcane, this experiment assessed the degradation kinetics of pyraclostrobin in Louisiana soil. Samples from an untreated field were spiked with pyraclostrobin and analyzed in lab conditions over the course of 63 days. Extraction was done using dSPE with the extract analyzed by HPLC-UVvis. Modeling was done using Microsoft Excel to predict DT x values. Pyraclostrobin was found to follow biphasic kinetics with DT 50 ,DT 75, and DT 90 values of 65, 171, and 313 days, suggesting it is moderately persistent to persistent.
