Winner of the 2011 Catherine Barragy Mackin Memorial Prize. This prize is awarded to the best expository essay written by an undergraduate student above the freshman level. Established in 1984, the award is chosen by the English Undergraduate Advisory Committee. The winner receives a cash award and a plaque.
