Description

Students enrolled in all sections of EDUC 1010 and EDSP 3610 (approximately 90 per semester) are assigned to one of 4 Capital-One New Beginnings Charter Schools (Capdau, Gentilly Terrace, Nelson and Lake Area Early College High School). Dr. Bole partners with Mrs. Karen Gauthier, Literacy Facilitator of New Beginnings, to match each UNO student with a teacher. Each student completes a minimum of 25 hours of service learning in the assigned classroom. Students work individually or in small groups to address specific literacy activities assigned by the classroom teacher. Activities include tutoring, oral readings, and administration of diagnostic assessments
