Description

This is a quarter inch scale model I built of the Misanthrope play, which was designed by Matthew Eberts and myself and showed at the Nim's Theater in Fall of 2015. The model is in a box that is 15" x 15" x 12"H and is going to be accompanied by two 8 1/2 x 11" photos of the real set. The display requires a pedestal or table top. The set was designed to represent a 1960's Paris apartment of a wealthy female aristocrat. The primary color blocking used throughout the set was a reference to the Dutch painter Mondrian's Tableau paintings that became a staple print used in decor and fashion in the 60's. The apartment is a combination of classic French 19th century architecture with modern 1960's style.
