The quality of music students listen to has profound effects on academic performance: music genre means better concentration. To investigate effects of music on visual memory, thirty subjects were randomly divided into four groups of ten. Three groups were assigned a music genre and one white noise to listen to for ten minutes. A slideshow of 32 shapes was shown for three minutes for each group following the music. They studied shapes with a minute’s delay while listening to music. A test on shapes to find the original and survey shortly followed. There was no significant difference amongst the subjects.
