Abstract
The subject of this report concerns one organization that has been at the forefront of the contemporary public art movement. The Public Art Fund Inc., an eleven year-old, private nonprofit organization dedicated to the integration of art in urban settings, can be viewed as a case study in the challenges and problems of public art administration. Founded one decade after the newly created National Endowment for the Arts awarded its first grant for a public art project in 1967, the Public Art Fund has grown with the public art movement by adapting with innovation and dedication to its changing concerns.
