Description

How can we create powerful learning environments for our students and ourselves through undergraduate research? How can we encourage faculty to participate with students and colleagues in this highly engaged practice? What elements do the best undergraduate research experiences have in common? This presentation/conversation will explore these questions in a way that invites discussion among participants.

Katherine Whatley is the National Representative for the Council on Undergraduate Researh and Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. A nuclear physicist, she served in several leadership roles at the University of North Carolina at Asheville before moving to Berry College including Chair of the Honors Program Task Force and Director of the UNC Asheville Undergraduate Research Program.
