Abstract

The poems in this collection take place alongside the Mississippi River and its concrete cousin Interstate 55, from Saint Louis to New Orleans. They track their speaker's spiritual and earthly experiences in forms both formal and experimental. The subject matter involves persons unhoused, addicted, or spiritually jaded, as well as dire environments that signify the manmade cataclysm of the Anthropocene.
